TLC Cake Boss Recipe !!

espero q esten todo bn , aqui navegando en el internet buscando el ultimo episodio del programa de tv de TLC Cake Boss me encontre con este articulo q habla sobre los episodios de Buddy  y leyendo me encuentro con par de las recetas q el a utilizado en el show !

aqui les posteo dos de ellas el red velvet cake de Buddy y el Buttercream icing !

Red Velvet Cake

This “Cake Boss” recipe is from a Food Network Challenge “Surprise Birthday Cakes” episode.

• 3/4 stick butter, room temperature, plus more for pans

• 1 5/8 cups cake flour

• 1 teaspoon salt

• 1 1/4 cups sugar

• 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

• 2 large eggs, room temperature

• 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder

• 3/4 cup buttermilk

• 3/4 teaspoon vinegar

• 3/4 teaspoon baking soda

• 1 ounce red food coloring

Heat oven to 350 degrees. Butter 2 medium-size sheet pans, or 2 8-inch-round cake pans.

In a bowl, sift the flour and salt together. In an electric stand mixer, combine the butter and sugar at medium speed. Add the vanilla, then the eggs, 1 at a time, and then the cocoa powder. Reduce the mixer speed to low. Stream in half of the buttermilk, then slowly add half of the flour mixture, then the rest of the buttermilk and remaining flour.

In a separate bowl, mix the vinegar and baking soda, and mix into the batter. Add the red food coloring and combine well. When it is mixed thoroughly, divide mixedbatter evenly between mixedcake pans.

Bake for 30 to 35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Remove from the oven and allow to cool in the pans. Slice, as desired, and serve.

Makes 6 to 8 servings.

Buttercream Icing

• 1/2 cup solid vegetable shortening

• 1/2 cup butter or margarine (1 stick) softened

• 1 teaspoon clear vanilla extract

• 4 cups confectioners’ sugar, sifted (approximately 1 pound)

• 2 tablespoons milk

In large bowl, cream the shortening and butter with an electric mixer. Add the vanilla. Gradually add the sugar, 1 cup at a time, beating well on medium speed. Scrape the sides and bottom of the bowl often. When all of the sugar has been mixed in, the icing will appear dry. Add the milk and beat at medium speed until light and fluffy. Keep the bowl covered with a damp cloth until ready to use.

For best results, keep the icing bowl in the refrigerator when not in use. Refrigerated in an airtight container, this icing can be stored for 2 weeks. Rewhip before using.

Makes about 3 cups of icing

Les recomiendo el show si no han tenido la oportunidad de verlo es un poko rustiko para mi gusto pero haces cosas lindas y creativas bueno lo mas q me gusta es q se trabaja en un ambiente familiar y esto es un ingrediente magico para cualquier negocio mas si es un bakery !

My Favorite Starbucks Drink ♥

Hola !

Aqui en casita y de momento tengo ganas de tomarme un Mocha Frapuccino mmmmmmmmmmm de Starbucks , y es q hace unos meses no me tomo uno. El ultimo me lo trajo mi amiguita Marlyn (gracias manita te quiero muchas veces jeje ) q por cierto tenemos un date para ir a tomarnos uno en la tienda . Y nada queria comentarles cual es el q me gusta y ademas q me encontre esta pagina navegando en el Internet donde tiene todas las localidades de los Starbucks en Puerto Rico

Ademas que ahora buscandoles el pic del Mocha Frappuccino me encontre con la receta , asi que aqui les va :

Starbucks Mocha Frappuccino

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup fresh espresso
  • 2 1/2 cups low fat milk (2 percent)
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon dry pectin

Directions

Combine all of the ingredients in a pitcher or covered container. Stir or shake until sugar is dissolved. Chill and serve cold. Makes 24 ounces.

To make the “Mocha” variety:
Add a pinch (1/16 teaspoon) of cocoa powder to the mixture before combining.

To make espresso with a drip coffee maker and standard grind of coffee:
Use 1/3 cup ground coffee and 1 cup of water. Brew once then run coffee through machine again, same grounds. Makes about 1/2 cup fresh espresso to use in the above recipe.

mmmmm a ver cuando me animo y lo hago pero en realidad q no hay nada mejor q ir a la tienda y que te lo sirvan mmm extrañaria hasta el nombre mio en el vaso y que tardaran y luego me llamaran Lucyyyyyyy y yo pararme he ir a buscarlo  ok lo acepto me fue en un viaje jajaja .

The origin of the Valentines Day is shrouded in mystery and there are varying opinions about it. Its origin has become theme of many legends. St. Valentines Day as we celebrate today has remnants of both Christian and ancient Roman traditions. According to some legends Saint Valentine served as a priest at the temple during the reign of Emperor Claudius. Claudius then had Valentine jailed for defying his decree, which outlawed marriage for young men.

Some legends have it that the Valentines Day originated from St. Valentine, a Roman who was martyred for refusing to give up Christianity on Feb. 14, 269 A.D. Today the Roman Church recognizes at least three different saints named Valentine, all of whom were martyred. St. Valentine may have been imprisoned and later killed for helping Christians to escape harsh punishment in Roman prisons.

There is an interesting story portraying the love affair between St. Valentine and the jailor’s daughter. St. Valentine left a farewell note for her, the note read- “from your Valentine². Valentine’s Day is said to have started in the Roman Empire. In ancient Rome, February 14th was a holiday to honour Juno. Juno was the Queen of the Roman Gods and Goddesses. The Romans regarded her as the Goddess of women and marriage. The following day, February 15th, began the festival of Lupercalia, in honor of Lupercus, the hunter of wolves. Legends aside, the popularity of the Valentines Day rose manifold among the people and in tune with it Pope Gelasius set aside February 14 to honor St. Valentine, the patron saint of love and romance.

Tequila Rose Cake Recipe ♥

Ingredients:                                                                    TEQUILA ROSE
1 Box white cake mix with pudding
3/4 cup Tequila Rose Liqueur
3/4 cup pureed strawberries
1 cup heavy cream
1 Tbl. sugar
1/3 cup Tequila Rose Liqueur
Directions:
Mix cake mix following directions, using 3/4 cup of Tequila Rose Liqueur in place of an equal amount of the water called for on the box. Add pureed strawberries. Bake as directed on the boc. Let the cake cool completely, then frost.
Whip the cream, sugar and Tequila Rose Liqueur together. Frost the top of the cake, then garnish with fresh whole strawberries.
